Senior-itis

Don't you hate it when senioritis kicks in? Those moments when you just can't get yourself to care. When it comes down to sleeping an extra hour for school the next day or finishing watching that great movie; the choice between doing that big senior project, or Faceboook stalking all of your friends. Then at the end of the quarter you have to scramble to get your late work in, and beg the teacher for any amount of  extra credit you can get.
Senioritis is a real epidemic across America's high schools, and there's nothing you can do but suffer thorugh it. Now, I have to admit I am suffering from senioritis. I was in class the other day and my teacher gave a due date for our work, I had already planned in my head that I would wait until Sunday to complete the paper and turn it in on the due date.
Then out of no where my teacher asked who hadn't turned the paper in. This confused me because the last I had heard it wasn't due yet. So I raised my hand and said I didn't turn it in yet, and she asked me why I didn't care for her class any longer. I was slightly offended that she had called me out in front of the class so I asked why she thought that I didn't care and told her that I do care.
Yes, I understand that I have serious senioritis but I think teachers need to be more understanding of the fact that we're about to graduate and have a lot going on. My final message; put yourself in each others shoes and try to understand what each other is really going through.
